Key Responsibilities

  • Host a team huddle.

  • Assist in the set up of all host team signage.

  • Assist in the setting out of connection cards, giving envelopes and pens on every chair before service.

  • Assist is the set up of all HomePods and play music from Spotify on the Next Steps iPad before people arrive for service.

It has been said that you never get a second chance to make a first impressions. As people enter the door of Modern Church, we want to make certain that they feel welcome and are greeted with a warm smile, handshake, pat on the back or a hug. Come join us as we show the love of Jesus to everyone who enters our doors.

Serve Overview

  • We are responsible for providing a warm and welcoming environment for people as they arrive for church services. We are the first point of contact for many people attending the service, and our role will be to greet them with a smile, offer assistance as needed, and help them feel at home in our church community.

Team Needed

  • (2-4) depending on size of campus lobby

Before Service

  • Arrive on time, check-in, and attend Dream Team Rally to celebrate wins, hear vision, and pray before our serve.

  • Attend a team huddle.

  • Greet people as they arrive for church services, offering a warm and friendly welcome.

  • Direct people to appropriate locations, such as the auditorium, kids area, restrooms or next steps table.

  • Provide information about the church, such as service times, upcoming events, and ministries

  • Help first time guests feel at home in our church community by offering to connect them with a church member or team lead.

  • Avoid to much physical contact. Hand shakes from men and hugs from women are appropriate but be mindful of peoples personal space.

  • Be a personal guide to guests if needed. Don’t point them to an area, walk them there.

During Service

  • Continue greeting for the first 15 minutes of service to ensure that everyone (even those who arrive late) are greeted.

After Service

  • Check your serve area for debris, personal items, and cleanliness to always “leave it better than we found it.”

PARKING LOT

Parking Team Members help to create a warm welcoming atmosphere to all those who arrive at Modern Church every Sunday. If you like being outdoors, enjoy greeting and assisting people this might be a great fit for you. The parking team ministry is always a fun place to serve and it is a great way to get to know the people of Modern Church as well as serve new guests who come our way each week.

Serve Overview

  • We are responsible to help direct and guide cars as they enter and exit the church parking lot. We are responsible for ensuring the safety and efficiency of the parking lot during the church service.

Team Needed

  • (2-4) depending on size of campus

Before Service

  • Arrive on time, check-in, and attend Dream Team Rally to celebrate wins, hear vision, and pray before our serve.

  • Attend a team huddle.

  • Set up all outdoor signage in its appropriate location.

  • Provide assistance to those who need it.

  • Directing vehicles to available parking spots in an organized and safe manner.

  • Provide clear and concise instructions to drivers entering and exiting the parking lot.

  • Maintain a positive and welcoming attitude towards all visitors.

  • Respond to any emergencies or accidents that may occur in the parking lot.

  • Keep the parking lot clean and free of debris.

During Service

  • Continue directing cars for 15 minutes after service starts.

  • Tear down all signage and return it to its appropriate location.

After Service

  • Check your serve area for debris, personal items, and cleanliness to always “leave it better than we found it.”

USHERS

We are a highly visible team that serves our members and guests as they enter the sanctuary by greeting, seating people and assisting with special needs. Our goal is to ensure that everyone has a positive and uninterrupted worship experience. Our team also collect the offering, assists with ministry lines, service communion, distributes materials and straightens the sanctuary and chairs after each service. We are ready and positioned to respond to the needs of our pastors and people.

Serve Overview

  • We play a critical role in providing a warm and inviting environment for our guests, guiding them to their seats, distributing materials, and helping maintain order during the service. The ushers will also be responsible for directing people through prayer lines during (if applicable) and at the end service.

  • (3-8) depending on size of campus lobby

Before Service

  • Arrive on time, check-in, and attend Dream Team Rally to celebrate wins, hear vision, and pray before our serve.

  • Attend a team huddle.

  • Distribute materials such as offering envelopes, connection cards, prayer cards, or other printed materials

  • Greet guests as they arrive and making them feel welcome.

  • Direct guests to their seats and helping them find the best available seats if needed.

  • Provide directions to restrooms, water fountains, or other facilities.

During Service

  • Assist guests with special needs or requests.

  • Direct people through prayer lines during the services prayer time if applicable.

  • Maintain order and decorum during the service.

  • Assist the security team if a disturbance occurs.

  • Respond to any emergencies or disruptions that may occur during the service.

After Service

  • Direct people through prayer lines during the service.

  • Collect tithes and offerings if needed and place them in the designated location.

  • Check your serve area for debris, personal items, and cleanliness to always “leave it better than we found it.”
